HiSilicon insists on researching and developing cutting-edge semiconductors

    According to the latest research report of Strategy Analytics from IT House on June 14, the global smartphone processor market grew by 21% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2021, reaching US$6.8 billion, among which Huawei HiSilicon's smartphone processor shipments The volume dropped by 88% compared to the same period last year.



     According to the Nikkei Asian Review, Huawei's director Chen Lifang said that they are still developing world-leading semiconductor components internally, and the HiSilicon division will not make any restructuring or layoff decisions.  

 She also revealed that HiSilicon has more than 7,000 employees in 2020, so maintaining this part will be a serious financial burden for Huawei. But she explained: Huawei is privately held and is not affected by external forces, and its management has made it clear that it will retain HiSilicon.
